Regional growth has continued to spool within the Carolinas in recent years, especially within the Knowledge Park district, an area that assisted in Rock Hill becoming one of very few communities across the nation to be officially awarded and branded as an “All-America City” by the National Civic League in 2019. As the state’s largest available adaptive reuse project, The Thread, along with multiple other recently completed, under construction, and proposed surrounding complementary projects, represents nearly $500 million of new commercial development within Knowledge Park. Together these projects have created one of the most dynamic and pedestrian friendly submarkets within the greater Charlotte metro area and is poised to see continued growth well into the future.
